The patches have been purchased and the count-down is on. Yep, I've made the decision to finally quit smoking.

The magic moment is to be Thursday morning when the first patch will be applied to my arm before departing for work.

I tried to quit a couple of years ago. It didn't work, and I know why. I wasn't really trying to quit, I was out of work and couldn't afford cigarettes.

This time the decision is mine. I only hope I can succeed. Wish me luck, I've a feeling I may need it.

This has been one of those weeks. You know the kind, fast paced filled with highs and lows. The fast pace comes from trying to finish the project out at work even though we have an a-hole of an assurance control guy who is nit picking us to death. The thing is by contract we have to be done by the 28th of this month.

Last month the doctor told my sister she needed a complete hysterectomy which is scheduled for the 23rd of this month. Just as she was getting used to the idea of having that operation, her doctor this week tells her she needed a biopsy before the surgery. Needless to say this has thrown her and most everyone in the family for a loop. So now she as well as the rest of us are waiting on pins and needles for the results of this test. Hopefully it will turn out ok, hopefully.

On the upside however, this past Tuesday my youngest brother's wife presented us with a little bundle of joy with the birth of their daughter. Well a bundle of joy anyhow, I think being almost 10 pounds and 21 inches kinda nullifies the little part. Still this positive excitement was needed about now.

Now I'm going to settle back and try and have a quiet weekend. Hope you all have a good weekend as well.
That's it for now. Later.

Sure has been a strange winter here. It started off normally with cold temp's and an abundance of snow. However since just before the new year it's been like Spring around here with the temp's hovering in the 60's. And let me tell ya it's a hell of a lot better then the teens which is normal for this time of year. Now I'm not silly enough to think it will stay this way the rest of the winter...but it sure is nice.

Not often I can run around in January dressed like this.
